July 18th was Nelson Mandela International Day. This is conversation is for those who missed out the first time around or those who attended the event and would like further discussion. We will invite people to explore and share their own truths and experiences with race.

You are highly recommended to watch the documentary created by Reflecting Freedom Network around this year’s theme of Truth and Reconciliation which includes highlights from a Living Room Conversation in Jacksonville, Florida. You can find it by clicking HERE.

Use the Calendar below to register. Click the date and select the open time, enter all of the information, and you will receive a confirmation with details right away. If you don’t receive a confirmation right away please email Chelsea at

Here are some of the questions that will be explored:

  • What status do you enjoy? Education, wealth, gender, race, etc? What are the privileges of your status?
  • Were conversations about race a part of your upbringing? If so, how was the subject approached? What messages did you internalize about other races?
  • What thoughts and emotions have the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd brought up in you? What has this been like for you?
  • What is giving you hope right now?
