Coronavirus – Religious Liberty in the Time of Corona

The First Amendment of the Constitution establishes significant freedoms when it comes to meeting together as a faith community: freedom to establish and exercise a religion, freedom to gather, and freedom of speech. Yet, during this global pandemic, most state and local governments have limited social gatherings in order to “flatten the curve” and keep as many people from being infected with the coronavirus as possible. How do we best balance our religious freedoms and our collective moral responsibilities?
